We develop and commercialise technology that improves how plant nutrients and the benefits of microbial products are made available to plants.
Through our own applications and partnerships, we aim to support better use of resources, stronger and secure crop establishment, that leads to more profitable and productive farms and forests and long-term value creation through healthier soils and ecosystems.
We are guided by a simple principle: sustainable solutions must also be commercially viable. Otherwise, they cannot be adopted at scale or deliver lasting impact.

From an observation to a technology platform
Cropcision was founded in 2022, with roots in research at Umeå University and collaboration with the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, SLU.
The idea began with a simple observation. When CEO and founder Jonathan Love saw how minerals and nutrients moved slowly through a terracotta pot, it raised a question: could the same principle help address a familiar challenge in forestry and agriculture – that much of the nutrient applied never reaches the plant?
Together with co-founder Michael Holmboe at Umeå University, the idea was developed into the technology that now forms the foundation of Cropcision.
Where we are heading
SILVIVO® demonstrates how Cropcision’s technology can move from research to a clearly defined commercial application.
We believe the knowledge and experience gained through our work in forestry have broader potential and can inform new applications in other growing systems.
We are now exploring further opportunities in forestry, agriculture and horticulture, as well as partnerships where our technology can complement existing products, including microbial inoculants.
Our ambition is to build Cropcision into an international agtech company with a technology platform capable of creating value across multiple markets – through both our own products and partnerships.
We want to grow where the technology can create lasting impact, together with people and companies that share our commitment to quality, value and long-term thinking.

We have deep expertise in our respective fields, but we do not have all the answers.

Jonathan Love – CEO & Co-founder
Background in forest biotechnology, forest management and agtech, with experience in taking research-driven innovation to practical and commercial application.
Michael Holmboe – Co-founder
Associate Professor at Umeå University, specialising in molecular geochemistry and the interactions between water and minerals.
Jonas Gullberg – Business Development & Sales
PhD from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, SLU, with a background in forest genetics, plant physiology and analytical chemistry, as well as experience in business development and marketing in technology-driven organisations.
